Terms of service
Last updated 7 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and AcademHep ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use AcademHep.
1. What AcademHep is
AcademHep connects final year and Masters students who are working on technology projects with experienced professionals who mentor them. A mentor reviews your work, explains what to improve and prepares you to defend it.
AcademHep is not a writing or development service. We do not write reports, build systems or supply work for you to submit. Our academic integrity rule is part of these terms.
We cannot promise a grade, a supervisor's approval or any other result from your institution. You remain responsible for your project and for following your institution's rules.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older.
- Students must be enrolled at a university, polytechnic or college. Mentors must have real experience in the field they mentor in, and are approved by us after we review their credentials.
- The details you give us must be true and kept up to date. One person, one account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
3. Requests, quotes and payment
- Sending a request and receiving a quote costs nothing.
- A quote is one price for the whole project and stays open until the date shown on it. After that date you can ask for a new one, which may differ.
- For help with a project, you pay 70 percent to begin and the remaining 30 percent before the final phase (the full report review, final code review and mock defence). A request for project ideas is paid in full at the start.
- Payments are made in naira through Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy, which is part of these terms.
4. How a project runs
- Once you have paid, we send your project to a mentor in your track. When a mentor accepts it you are told and your chat opens.
- Your project is divided into milestones. You submit your own work for each one, your mentor returns feedback, and you revise until it is approved.
- We may replace your mentor if they become unavailable or if the match is not working. Your tracker, files and chat carry over.
- If something is wrong, use "Report a problem" on your project page. Only our team sees it.
5. Mentors
- Mentors are independent professionals, not our employees. We check their credentials before approving them.
- A mentor is shown what a project involves and what they would be paid before deciding. They are free to decline.
- A mentor's fee is a share of the project price agreed when they accept. It is paid after we confirm the project is complete. If a project is cancelled part of the way through, the mentor is paid for the milestones they reviewed.
- Mentors must keep everything they see in a project confidential and must not use a student's work for anything else.
6. Keeping it on AcademHep
Students and mentors agree to keep their work and their conversations on AcademHep. This protects both sides: there is a record if something goes wrong, and our refund policy can only cover what happened here.
- If you would like to use WhatsApp, ask for a group from your project page. A member of our team creates it and stays in it.
- Do not exchange phone numbers, email addresses or social media handles, and do not move to private chats.
- Do not arrange or make any payment outside AcademHep.
Everything written or uploaded inside a project (chat messages, submissions, feedback and files) is part of that project's record. Our team can read it, and we use automated checks on it, to keep students and mentors safe, to resolve disputes and to enforce these rules. Our privacy policy explains more.
7. Your work and your files
- Your work stays yours. You give us permission to store it and to show it to your mentor and our team, only so that we can provide the service.
- Feedback your mentor gives you is yours to use for your project.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, anything you have no right to share, or anything harmful such as malware.
8. What is not allowed
- Misusing mentorship services or offering services outside the platform’s approved project support process.
- Pretending to be someone else, or giving false credentials.
- Harassing, threatening or abusing anyone.
- Trying to break, probe or overload the platform, or to reach another person's account or files.
9. Suspending and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where a project is open, the refund policy sets out what happens to money already paid. You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to support@academhep.com.
10. Our responsibility to you
We provide AcademHep with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for decisions made by your institution, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Our total liability to you for a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to projects already under way, we will tell you by email or on your dashboard before it takes effect.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to put it right.
